  • Devaluing the human experience.

After a career in engineering, excruciating pain put Gina on a path of research and discovery that introduced her to the mind-body methods that helped her to heal. The same methods she has been teaching in private practice since 2001.

 

She’s studied with the Medical Doctors who founded the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, and the Academy for Guided Imagery, trained with Mindful Schools, with Shamans, and many healers; some grounded in scientific research, others wildly instinctual.   

Gina is mentor to coaches, clinicians and agents of change here to transform the world for the better, and help others do the same.

 

She mentors in methods that increase attention, enhance impulse control, increase empathy for self and others, improve relationship dynamics, and encourage skillful responses to challenging life situations.

 

Together with what Gina refers to as “heroic souls on healing journeys” (‘clients’), she developed a uniquely transformative blend of mind-body tools to relieve stress and pain; change unwanted habits, and feel peaceful, confident and empowered.  Tools that support those in transition between their life as it has been and the new life they want to create, in ways that access and utilize their own unique genius; in service to their unique mission and purpose.

What is a Mind-Body Skills Group?

Mind-Body Skills Groups offer a powerful and effective combination of research based healing therapies to help participants deal with life changes, stress, and illness in an intimate and supportive group setting. The groups are kept small, usually 7-9 people, which allows for a deeper level of connection, sharing, and support. Groups meet at a set day and time for 8 weeks, 2.5 hours each week, which provides an opportunity for participants to begin to integrate the mind-body skills into their lives, with the support of the group to help them work through any challenges along the way.

 

What skills are taught in a Mind-Body Skills Group?

Mind-Body Skills Groups are highly experiential and integrate techniques such as Meditation, Guided Imagery, Self Hypnosis, Breath Work, Movement, Writing, Drawing and other approaches in a safe group environment.

 

What if I already practice some mind-body skills, like imagery or meditation? Would a group still be helpful for me?

Yes. Even if you have worked with Meditation or Imagery or another mind-body skill, a group can still be extremely helpful. Groups offer a stimulating atmosphere and an opportunity to experience many mind-body approaches, which often adds a deeper dimension to an existing practice. You may discover new skills, or new uses of familiar skills to add to your existing activities. Also, the group is designed not only to teach mind-body skills, but also to help participants develop a deeper level of awareness in everyday experiences, resulting in increased comfort with the emotional, physical and psychological challenges that life brings.

 

Who usually joins a Mind-Body Skills Group?

Everyone can benefit from a Mind-Body Skills Group. Groups are comprised of adults of all ages and all types of backgrounds. Some Groups are organized around specific professional groups or life challenges. Common to all Groups is a model of exploring various tools to use as skills for support in making changes, increasing coping ability, decreasing stress, lessening pain (physical or emotional), enhancing immune function, easing anxiety and depression, and heightening a sense of well-being and engagement in life, along with any other desired outcome.

 

What are some benefits of participating in a Group?

Participants notice a decrease in depression and anxiety, and a heightened sense of well-being and engagement in life; better coping skills; less pain, less fatigue, and greater energy, and a deeper sense of confidence and ease in dealing with stress, illness, and other life challenges.

 

How do I join a Group?

Enroll on this page, or check the website for scheduled Group events, or contact Gina Vance at:

After determining your interest and availability for a Group, you’ll later be contacted with the time, date, and location of your Group and be given any additional information you might need to join. Payment is required to hold your space in the Group, with some slots occasionally available at a lower fee due to sponsoring scholarships by companies, institutions, or private donors.

 
Can I miss a meeting?

Yes.  We will hold space for you. However, after the first meeting, the Group is closed, so missing the first meeting will prevent your participation in the current Group, and will move you to the wait-list.
